Baggage Tips

In light of the strict baggage screening regulations instituted by the Transportation Security Administration, here are some tips for getting your baggage through the security screening process quicker.

  • Travel light.

  • Make sure your baggage identification tags are correct.

  • Leave all checked baggage unlocked.

  • Don't over-pack your suitcases.

  • Shoes can set off screening alarms. Pack them on top in plastic bags so they can be easily checked.

  • If there are personal items that you don't want handled by the screeners, store them in clear plastic bags.

  • Don't put food, beverages, or undeveloped film in your checked baggage.

  • If you are taking gifts with you, don't wrap them. Do the gift wrapping after you get to your destination.
